The purpose of this event is to increase knowledge and improve decision-making ability when working in streams after a flood.
Participants will be trained in stream science and will learn proper restoration techniques that protect infrastructure, property, stream banks and natural ecosystems. Equipment operators will learn tools to conduct smart work eliminates or reduce the need to go back and repair mistakes and saving valuable resources. The targeted audience for the event: Municipal Highway/ DPW Staff, Local Contractors, Municipal Officials (i.e., Town Supervisors, County Highway Superintendents, Environmental Organizations, County Legislators, All Independent Parties). Additional topics can also include proper culvert sizing and implementation.
The training will be held in the County Annex Building with a FREE lunch. The attendees that complete the training will receive 2.0 Professional Development Hours available.
